This article will guide you through the gel freshener making process, so that you can end up with your very own gel freshener that looks and smells just the way you want it to.

The items that you are going to need in order to make your own gel freshener are as follows: 2 cups of distilled water (also known as deionized water), essential oils or another form of concentrated fragrance and an empty jar or mould. There are a few optional ingredients which involve food coloring of your choice and mould inhibitors – 1-2 T Salt, potassium sorbet or Vodka. Finally, you will need some decorative items to decorate your jar e.g. glitter, gems etc.

The first thing you need to do is heat 1 cup of distilled water and bring it to the boil.

Once the water is boiling, you need to add 4 packets of unflavored gelatine and stir until it is dissolved. You can use a common gelatine for this process.

Remove the mixture from the heat and stir in 1 cup of normal cold water. Now you can add 10-20 drops of the essential oil of your choice. Should you wish to make a colored gel, now is the time you would add the food coloring to the mixture. You can also add 1-2 T salt or potassium sorbet to stop any mould from growing on your gel. If you cannot get a hold of either one of these chemicals, a splash of vodka will still do the trick.

Pour the gel into a decorative mould or a little jar and allow the gel to set at room temperature. Next you can decorate your mould or jar as you desire and voila! You have your very own personalized gel air freshener which looks and smells exactly the way you want to.

Since you will be boiling water and pouring hot contents into jars, ensure that you take good care. If you are going to do this as a creative project with your children, ensure that you (the adult) take over the stages involving heating and pouring.

If any of the solution comes into contact with your eyes or skin, simply wash with water. If ingested, drink plenty of water and seek medical assistance.

This will work out so much cheaper overall than having to purchase gel fresheners. It also means that you can get a totally personalized freshener that you are going to love. They are not hard to make and do not require any specialist equipment which is expensive.

This is probably the easiest way to create time-lapse video, as it does all the work for you. Simply shoot and play back. This may not create the smoothest video, though. When the video films the frames, it will film a number of frames in each burst, and that number is not always consistent. This creates a video that looks bunched up or jumpy. The smoothest time lapse is that which records only one frame at a time.

Speeding up a regular video

Speeding up a regular video can resolve the smoothness issues of the method above. Record your video as normal, then save the file to your computer. Open the file up into video editing software, like  Adobe After Effects, Apple Final Cut Pro or Windows Moviemaker (which may be included with the Windows operating system). In the program, apply an effect called “Speed up, Double”. This will speed up your video by double. If you keep applying this effect, it will really speed up your regular video footage, creating a time-lapse video.

The downside of this method is that you do not have as much control over the speed of the video as with other methods. You can only increase the speed by two each time you apply the effect.

Creating a video from digital photographs

Time lapse is like most things, where you get out what you put in to the process. To that end, the best way to create a time-lapse video is the most complex and time-intensive.

First, you need a quality digital camera that takes photographs as regular intervals. Digital cameras tend to take higher resolution images with better image sensors, which will create better visuals. Set the camera to the interval setting. This process is largely the same process as filming in bursts, but it will only take one image at a time.

Connect your camera to your computer, and use the interval recording to save photographs to the computer regularly. You may need to use some software to ensure your computer and camera are compatible and can work together, but this software is usually fairly cheap.

Once the photographs have been captured, you need to create the videos. Software like GBtimelapse, HandyAvi or iStopMotion are designed to do this. You could use the programs mentioned above, but this software allows you to precisely control how fast the video goes.

Play around with the software, and figure out what you like best. Save that video file, and get ready to wow your audience with your gorgeous time-lapse video.

There are web tools for almost everything. The best are those that automate processes that previously required complex programming or design knowledge. Those that I present FlipBook Creator today are few interesting options to create interactive books.

The interactive books have led to a new level learning through playful, through priceless artwork relieving, at least in part, physical texts. Similarly, the wide appeal of tablets and other handheld media are showing that much of the future of content will be consumed on mobile connections, and to stay in business will need to adapt texts. MoglueBuilder

Moglue is a company with two flagship products: MoglueBooks, to search, download and share interactive books (free or paid) even through mobile devices, and MoglueBuilder, the platform that will enable creation. Bring applications for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android soon also.

Baker Ebook Framework

A Framework, based on open standards, to develop interactive books in HTML5 compatible iOS devices (especially the iPad). Already wwwhatsnew discussed an example of how it was used to create the book “Colors forgotten” and potential. They required some knowledge of CSS, HTML and JavaScript to sign.

NeoBook

To create not only books but also all kinds of educational and other animated content as a Windows application, operating system for which it was designed. The touch of image editing tools and options in sidebars, allows quickly familiarize yourself with its operation.

Playfic

An interesting alternative for those who do not care about the visuals but still want to create something witty, something that requires further user’s mind. With Playfic can create a game using any text-for example, the Sherlock Holmes could find, asking the user to follow the guidelines established with his thinking to go forward.

Myebook

An online application that creates interactive books from PDF files uploaded or created from scratch in the platform. Now, the interesting thing is that you use sounds, images, videos (locally or from YouTube), files, links, documents flash, default themed templates and more. In short, perfect for things like virtual magazines. On his website you can distribute and market the results.

iBooks Author

As many times what Apple has achieved with iBooks Author revolutionary or at least gives the talk-the market for interactive digital book with a complete application for Mac OS X and iOS devices. Space is too short to highlight its possibilities (what they did on their official website) but is generally the amount of supported formats and intuitive layout. Importantly, the books created in. Ibooks can only be sold through the iBook Store so my recommendation is to read the license carefully to avoid surprises with restrictions and other legal issues.
