5.   Some Asterisks may fool you!

• You will find “*ad” at the end of some of tweets. So it means that tweet is an ad, the user has been paid for the particular tweet.
• Sometimes you will find * followed by certain letters, that means that user is tweeting on behalf of certain organizations or missions.

Facebook weak against Bots

The fellow researcher at University of British Columbia has conducted an experiment at Vancouver. They have created some bots with predefined script of program. This bots are kind of gorilla infiltrators. They bypass the checks present in the program to be targeted. Now the twist in the story is that the bots created by Research fellows has been able to collect the personal information of so many users. The aim of the conducted study was to aware the people who are using social networks regarding their privacy and security.

Results are eye opener for Facebook:

The shocking part of the story is, by using the bots researchers were able to collect data of around 250 GB. There were 3,000 profiles which affected by this ethical attack. System at Facebook has only noted 1/5^th of total affected user profiles. This shows that there are certain problems in well known social sites defense system.

It seems that if ethical hackers have done that so easily, what would happen if the attack proceed by hackers with some malicious intense? In a surprising node the report submitted by researchers has also noted that bots have aggravated their effects by using friend request. If a user accepts friend request who has already been affected by bots, the friend will also be vulnerable again the same! On an average each bot has got viral effect for 20 accounts and some of them were even able to get access to 80-90 profiles.

Information generated by researchers includes photograph, username, status updates, time line activities, birthdates and many of the personal information.

Expectations from Facebook:

We expect that Facebook will take this research with utmost sincerity. The folks and maintenance engineers must not overlook this study. They have to strengthen their defense mechanism and fill the present voids as soon as possible. There were whispers already running among the analysts since quite a few days that Facebook has been compromising with the ideal RWD and security. Unfortunately the later is proven right by the mentioned research.

Users should take care of…

Users on social media must use the privacy options provided by developers. They should not use or transfer important personal details with any unsecured or public connection. They must take care of their password (which must be composed of capital, small and numeric characters). We hope for the best by believing the saying “Necessity is the mother of all inventions.”

This tutorial is written exclusively for designsmag.com.

Step 1: Create a new document that’s big enough for you to work on. I usually settle for a horizontal orientation of the short coupon bond. But you can go bigger if you want. Just make sure that the squares you will be producing is big enough for you to work on. Pour a black paint, all zeroes. Label it BACKGROUND.

Step 2: Click WINDOW. Click ACTIONS. Click NEW ACTION. Start recording.

Step 3: Create a new layer. Click FILTER. Click RENDER. Click CLOUDS. Click LAYER MODE. Click SCREEN.

Step 4: Click FILTER. Click PIXELATE. Click MOSAIC. Cell Size should be 80 square.

Step 5: Click FILTER. Click SKETCH. Set the FOREGROUND LEVEL to 50

Step 6: Click STOP RECORDING.

Step 7: Repeat the action about eight times to take out all the black areas. You should get this:

Step 8: Merge all layers except the Background layer.

Step 9: On the Mosaic layer, click FILTER. Click SKETCH. Click PHOTOCOPY. Detail should be no more than 24 and Darkness should be no more than 1.

Step 10: Invert the color of the layer.

Step 11: Click IMAGE. Click AUTO CONTRAST.

Step 12: Create a new layer and click LAYER MODE. Click OVERLAY

Step 13: Click BRUSH TOOL and choose a round brush tool with soft edges. It should be just big enough to occupy the edges of the dark squares.

Step 14: Duplicate the layer. Click FILTER. Click BLUR. Click GAUSSIAN BLUR.

Step 15: Click LAYER MODE. Click OVERLAY.

Step 16: Merge all layers except the BACKGROUND LAYER.

Step 17: Click IMAGE. Click ADJUSTMENTS. Click HUE/SATURATION. Experiment with the settings but I used:

• Hue should be 216
• Saturation should be 100
• Lightness should be 0
• Tick Colorize

Step 18: Click EDIT. Click TRANSFORM and drag the two end points of the side on your right so that it will look smaller. See below.

You should have something similar to this.

Step 19: You can add more color if you want. Just create a new layer. Click LAYER MODE. Click OVERLAY. Manipulate the foreground and background. Essentially, you just need to repeat steps 12 to 15.

If you want to print this out, make sure you use a glossy paper. It can be used for different purposes like backgrounds, covers, and even for art pieces. However, I suggest you use a nice quality printer. All in one laser printer might do the job. Search for dell coupons online to get a good deal.
